Liquid Sky Lacquer Pop Rocks

Happy Friday everyone (or Saturday depending on where you are)!! Like much of the Northeastern United States and Southeastern Canada, we got hit with a bunch of snow today. If you're in that area I hope you stayed safe today. I had the day off and my sister and I planned to do some nail polish shopping, so we braved the blizzard...for nail polish! Are you surprised?! Fortunately, we both took the subway so it was safe. And it was well worth it, I got my first OPI Designer Series polish!! <3

I have another polish from Liquid Sky Lacquer. I absolutely love this one - not only was the colour gorgeous, but it applied like a dream.

Pop Rocks is magenta, but slightly leaning towards red, with a lighter pink shimmer. It has small gold holo square glitter and medium magenta holo hex glitter. The holo effect is more noticeable on the gold glitter, and less on the magenta hex glitter.

As I said before, this polish applies like a dream, it is almost effortless. I used two coats for these swatches, and the consistency was perfect, not too thin or thick. Also it was completely self-leveling. The only thing to watch out for when applying is that you don't have glitter poking off the nail, but that's standard for any polish with larger glitter.

Overall, I'm really impressed with this polish. I find that many indies, even the very popular ones, are very tricky to apply - clumping glitter, thick formula, too sheer, sparse glitter, etc. I'm happy to say this has none of those issues. The only criticism is that I wish the hex glitter stood out a bit more, it seems to disappear in the base. But it's still a pretty polish regardless.

    Which Opi DS did you buy - could we see swatches? Loooove Opi DS ....... and your nails :)

    1. Mette, I got DS Extravagance, which seems to be one of the more popular ones. I'll try to get some swatches soon. I'd like to do it on a day when there's some sunshine, but in the winter that's hit and miss. :)
